Adolescent age groups of wheelchair users encounter unique challenges in carrying their belongings like school supplies, toys, and other personal belongings. Current backpack and storage solutions are often not accessible enough to meet the specific needs and preferences of wheelchair-using children. Mentioned problems even further influence their self-esteem and independence.

Objective

This adaptive backpack will provide users with a more accessible method of interaction to mitigate back and shoulder stress during the interaction. Moreover, it’s stylish design will promote self-esteem and independence.

This adaptive backpack is crafted to surpass the accessibility of standard adaptive backpacks in the market. It features a enlarged, easy-grip zipper, enabling users to effortlessly locate and open the backpack without the need to search for the zipper. Additionally, the design includes a flip-open cover coupled with a spacious pocket, allowing users to access their belongings with minimal movement, enhancing the overall user experience.
